School life

If I was asked what I have enjoyed most about teaching it would have to be getting to work with so many awesome students, their enthusiasm and energy has inspired my teaching and led me to become very involved in all aspects of school life.

I've always taken an active role in service learning, outward bounds and cross-curricular projects. I feel that the lessons that these activities teach are incredibly valuable; I know how much I've learned from doing them over the years.

Tech-free was a project I developed with ITGS students at the British School of Costa Rica. We ran an event where students were sponsored to unplug their devices and spend 72 hours "Tech-Free". We then camped at a local school for a week and used the money we raised to renovate the classrooms and stock a library.

I believe in connected learning to teach students to develop their skills of inquiry and problem-solving. My teaching style is based on the idea that the capacity to increase your knowledge is more important than what you currently know.
